Deans, Asst/Assoc Deans, Office of Academic Affairs
Dear Faculty,
We are pleased to share exciting news about a recent collaborative effort between AAUP and the UNO administration resulting in significant advancements for many of our instructional faculty colleagues.
Through the dedicated efforts on both sides of the bargaining table, an agreement was reached that will increase the base salary for 46 full-time Instructors and Lecturers from across all of the colleges, who are among the lowest-paid of our full-time faculty members. These adjustments are crucial for faculty retention, as instructional faculty often face financial challenges as the lowest-paid full-time faculty members. They reflect our commitment to listening to and addressing the feedback received through faculty exit surveys and interviews.
The total infusion of $258,764 into base salaries is a testament to the power of collaboration and advocacy. Both of us would like to extend our gratitude to the UNO AAUP and college Deans who worked with Academic Affairs to prioritize support and retention of our instructional faculty. It is important to acknowledge that good things come when we work together. This achievement underscores the value of cooperation and collective efforts in addressing the needs and concerns of our faculty members. Let us continue our mutual dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive academic environment where all faculty members are valued and can thrive.
Thank you for your continued dedication and contributions to our academic community. Together, we can achieve great things.
Warmest regards,
Phil He
