Weitz Innovation and Excellence Fund Project Highlights
We’re excited to announce the launch of a new webpage showcasing projects supported by the Weitz Innovation and Excellence Fund. These stories highlight the creativity, collaboration, and impact happening across our campus—made possible through strategic investments in teaching, research, and engagement.
This year's ceremony will be held on April 25, 2025, 2:00 to 4:00 pm with a reception immediately following in Strauss. The website will be updated with 2025 student award winners one week prior to the event.

Faculty reports on Fall 2024 FDFs and FDFs taken during the 2023-24 academic year are due to Academic Affairs by May 16. Reports should be 1-2 pages and include a comparison of the actually activities with those outlined in the proposal as well as ways in which the FDF contributed to the faculty member's intellectual growth. NU DEAL
Academic Affairs is delighted to call for applications for the 2025-27 cohort of the University of Nebraska Developing Excellence in Academic Leaders (NU DEAL) program. This leadership development programs includes site visits to all four NU campuses and the opportunity to network and grow professionally with colleagues from across the system. More information is being shared with college and unit leadership. Applications are due April 15th.

Honors Spring Symposium
Faculty and staff are invited to attend the Honors Spring Symposium at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, in the MBSC Ballroom. This event celebrates the research and creative accomplishments of more than 50 graduating Honors students. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see the impact of their work on and beyond campus, and Honors is always excited to showcase their achievements to the university community.

Common Senses Festival: "My Disability Roadmap" Screening: April 28
The 2025 Common Senses Festival events at UNO will begin with a screening of My Disability Roadmap in the UNO Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center. The event includes a panel discussion and free refreshments. In this Emmy-winning short documentary, Samuel Habib, 21, navigates dating, college, and independence while using a wheelchair and communication device. Seeking guidance from disability activists, he pursues the bold life he desires. Learn more or register here.
Central Plains Research Data Center (CPRDC) Virtual Training Sessions
ORCA is pleased to invite you to receive training over 4 sessions (April 3, and April 17 sessions are remaining) via Zoom from Central Plains Research Data Center (CPRDC) Administrators on the ResearchDataGov.org (RDC) website portal, its datasets, ways to link to other datasets and information about the disclosure process. New Federated Login for eRA Commons & Research.gov
The Office of Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce that UNO faculty and researchers can now use their institutional credentials to log in to eRA Commons and Research.gov through federated login. This eliminates the need to manage separate credentials, such as Login.gov, providing a more streamlined and secure access experience.
To log in, select the institutional/federated login option on either platform and choose the University of Nebraska Omaha from the list. You will then be able to sign in using your UNO credentials.
Tip: Rather than scrolling through the drop-down list, enter "Omaha" or "Nebraska" as a search term to quickly find Omaha's identity provider.
