Let’s celebrate! Encourage your faculty to attend commencement to celebrate with and show support for our graduating students and their families. Full regalia is required. Additional information on the May commencement ceremonies can be found on the Commencement website. Seeking Campus Wide Stories of Community Engagement

Last year, the Office of Engagement (OE) published its inaugural annual report, highlighting impactful stories and key data related to community engagement across campus. The report aims to foster greater awareness and involvement by showcasing how university initiatives connect with and support the broader community. It also features updates on OE’s units and programs. Do you have a story or data point that reflects meaningful community engagement? We’d love to hear from you! Please reach out to Robyn Loos to share your story.

We hope to include as many stories as possible, but if your story doesn’t make this edition, we hope to build a repository of great stories to use throughout the year.

UNO Faculty Research and Creative Activity Celebration

Faculty Research Opportunities

Apply for the High School Internship Program.

As of February 2025, UNO is a member of the Central Plains Research Data Center (CPRDC) Consortium. Through this partnership, funded by the Office of Research and Creative Activity (ORCA), UNO researchers now have access to restricted-use datasets from the U.S. Census Bureau and other federal agencies. The CPRDC provides a secure computing lab for approved projects, creating new opportunities for groundbreaking research across disciplines.

This spring, ORCA hosted informational sessions about the CPRDC and its resources. Recordings, presentation slides, and other materials from these sessions are available on Canvas.

New Federated Login for eRA Commons & Research.gov

The Office of Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce that UNO faculty and researchers can now use their institutional credentials to log in to eRA Commons and Research.gov through federated login. This eliminates the need to manage separate credentials, such as Login.gov, providing a more streamlined and secure access experience.

  • To log in, select the institutional/federated login option on either platform and choose the University of Nebraska Omaha from the list. You will then be able to sign in using your UNO credentials.
  • Tip: Rather than scrolling through the drop-down list, enter "Omaha" or "Nebraska" as a search term to quickly find Omaha's identity provider.

For questions or assistance, please contact the Office of Sponsored Programs at unosponspro@unomaha.edu.
