Dear UNO Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative: the Academic Analytics Dashboard. This initiative marks a pivotal step toward empowering academic programs to have the data they need for data-intelligent decision-making.
The Academic Analytics Dashboard stands as a beacon of transparency and accessibility, offering a user-friendly interface for academic program data. Our campus currently has the Academic Department Indicators (ADI) we’ve used, for example, as part of our campus program review process. While the ADI is helpful to see data at a department or college level, the new Academic Analytics Dashboard will enable academic programs to see their student outcomes data disaggregated at the course level, by major, or at the department level. Similar to the transformative impact of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for teaching and learning, this dashboard will revolutionize how we view and use academic data. In addition, the Academic Analytics Dashboard incorporates the economics of course delivery and will enable programs to show their financial contribution to the campus.
Here's a glimpse into the key features that make the Academic Analytics Dashboard a game-changer:
- User-friendly data presentation for transparent and shared academic program data.
- Support for decision-making based on reliable information.
- Alignment with our institution’s values and goals for data-driven decision-making.
Expected benefits of this initiative include:
- Greater opportunity across academic affairs to articulate and manage resources.
- Enhanced ability to use common data sets to inform decisions related to department, college, and institutional initiatives.
- Increase opportunity for units to set goals, track progress, and identify opportunities for innovation and change.
We encourage all staff and faculty to actively engage with the Academic Analytics Dashboard as it becomes available. Your active engagement and invaluable input are crucial as we work together to leverage the power of data for the advancement of our academic community.
Please stay tuned for further communication regarding the Academic Analytics Dashboard, including updates on its rollout, training opportunities, and resources available to support your use of the platform.
Your unwavering dedication to UNO and your commitment to data-informed decision-making serve as the foundation for our collective success.
Please refer to our Academic Affairs Initiatives website for more information on the proposal process and timelines.
Warm regards,
