As a reminder for you, UNO policy designates the final week of regularly scheduled classes as Prep Week. This is a great time for students to complete make-up exams, finish projects, and prepare for final exams.
To maximize Prep Week, make sure your Canvas gradebook is current and remind students to:
Create a schedule for completing homework/projects and studying for final exams.
Identify a good study location such as Criss Library which will offer extended hours during Prep Week (May 6-11) and Finals Week (May 12-17).
Keep students engaged through the end of the semester and during prep week and prepare them for finals by posting study guides, rubrics, and/or project checklists in Canvas. You might also create a review quiz or use Canvas discussion tools to encourage students to pose last-minute questions to you. If you think it is appropriate, incentivize these with a few extra credit points.
Gamification is another way to keep students engaged and review content. Kahoot, Quizlet, Poll Everywhere, Pear Deck, and Padlet are possible tools that offer free and/or trial versions.
Mitigate the end-of-semester stress for your students and for YOU by:
Attending De-Stress Fest - take a break from studying/grading. You can even play with goats! Check unomaha.edu for a full list of activities.
