Teaching Tips

Take a moment and review the remaining tasks, assignments, projects, and/or exams in your course with your students. Then provide students with insights that might help them finish the semester on a high note. For example,

  • Clarify what percentage of the overall course grade is represented in remaining tasks.
  • If you’ve taught the class before, point out upcoming content that has been troublesome or difficult for past students. Suggest ways they can prepare for this.
  • If there is a group project, check in with groups now to prevent last-minute conflicts between group members.
  • Let students know how the final exam will be similar/different from previous exams.

      Student Services Spotlight

Encourage students to use these campus resources to manage end-of-semester stress.

      • Campus Recreation and Wellness – some physical activity can provide a welcomed break from studying and homework.
      • CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) - free, confidential counseling and other services in person, via phone, and telehealth.
      • De-Stress Fest – a UNO tradition that offers a variety of fun and relaxing activities the week before finals. Spring activities will be posted soon.
