Colleagues,
Tomorrow marks the beginning of an important time for our campus as we enter our annual NuFlex Benefits enrollment period where our benefits-eligible employees have the chance to sign up for or change their medical benefits.
Our campus, as part of the University of Nebraska system, offers high-quality, comprehensive health plans through our providers and if these past two years have shown us anything, it is the importance of a strong medical benefits plan.
Today I am encouraging you to use these next three weeks, Oct. 25 through Nov. 12, to take advantage of this opportunity to get informed, be thoughtful, and prepare to make the best decisions that are right for you as we look towards 2022.
In the coming weeks you will hear from our Human Resources team who have important resources and answers to common questions that can help you make decisions about your medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as life insurance and long-term disability needs.
If you are unsure of what your current benefits plan is, you can easily access that information through our Firefly portal. This will help you make the most informed decision you can as you look through the options available to you.
I would also encourage you to take this time to collect any documentation you may need to complete our Health Risk Assessment, which is needed to achieve certain benefits through our campus plan. You may also want to make sure you have documentation of any life changes from the past year, including any marriages, changes to your dependent status, or recent medical changes.
Our health and wellness is so important to our overall wellbeing and to our sense of security, so if there are any specific needs, questions, or requests on how we can support you, even if you may not yet be benefits eligible, please reach out to our Human Resources benefits team at unobenefits@unomaha.edu.
Thank you, all, for your commitment to UNO. I am committed support your wellbeing so you can continue to support our students and each other.
