UNO’s Office Digital Learning has an array of upcoming training sessions and on-demand resources. Review the opportunities and offerings via Future-Focused EDU.
Student feedback is important. As you wrap up the semester, consider the following ways to get input on your teaching and course content.
Ask students to identify the most/least favorite assignment and have them explain their choice.
Have students reflect on the content they are most likely to apply or remember in the next year, five years, and ten years and then share this with you as the final assignment/task for the course.
Encourage students to participate in end-of-course evaluations. Remind them. Give them class time to complete the evaluation. Tell them how you used feedback in the past. Set a response rate goal. Gamify this by monitoring response rates and offering a few extra credit points or other small reward when the response rates exceed your benchmark.
Students can get support through UNO’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Located in H&K (with appointments available on South Campus), CAPS offers free and confidential services including individual, relationship, and drug/alcohol counseling as well as crisis services with in-person and telehealth options. Students should call 402-554-2409 (including after hours) if they are in crisis or if they wish to schedule an appointment.
You can nominate a colleague for the UNO Trailblazer award. Learn more on the Trailblazer website. And, save the date for the Inaugural Maverick Trailblazer Lecture – April 15, 4:00-7:00.
