We hope the spring semester has started off well for you! As the new term gets started, we wanted to remind you all that our virtual drop-in hours are still around. We are available Monday-Friday, from 9:00am-4:00pm; in addition, faculty can now book 30 minute one-on-one appointments with an instructional designer or instructional technologist on our Digital Learning Booking Website. Feel free to utilize both resources to get your questions answered!
We also want to say thank you for all the hard work you put in when it comes teaching your classes. You're doing a great job! If you haven't heard, UNO's online programs scored very well in the newest rankings by U.S. News and World Report; UNO couldn't have done it without you! Way to go Mavericks!! Canvas Updates
Recently, Canvas has added a couple new improvements to the Gradebook. While you're working, you might notice that Canvas will now automatically remove a missing assignment status once a grade is entered and that faculty now have the option to put first and last name into two separate columns in the Gradebook. The Office of Digital Learning is partnering with UNO faculty to share practice advice on mastering your online course. Join us for tips and a conversation on teaching effective online courses.
The Office of Digital Learning will be offering the second 3-week Humanizing Online course in February and a NEW third course dedicated to creating an engaging and inclusive online class in March. Faculty who participate and complete the course(s) will receive a $300 stipend per course. Series dates and topics are listed below:
