Finding your Course Evaluations
Looking to improve your course(s)? One of the easiest places to start is by looking over your student evaluations. To learn how to access your course evaluations, what to ask yourself (courtesy of the Center for Faculty Excellence), and how digital learning can help, check out our video by clicking on the button below!
Building courses in Canvas can be time-consuming, but it doesn't have to be! We wanted to share our 5-step process to building courses quicker. This 5-step process will speed up course building and allow you to focus on the content and details of your course! Don't miss out!
There are two ways to embed YuJa videos on a Canvas page; you can embed a video by using the YuJa Integration Tool, or by copying and pasting the embed code from YuJa itself. Both are great options to allow students to watch the video right in Canvas, but by using the integration tool, you will be able to track analytics, including who watches your videos and how much they watch. Check out both videos below:
When copying a previous course, instructors using LockDown Browser will need to access the LockDown Browser dashboard before their students can take any exams. You can do this easily by clicking on LockDown Browser in your course navigation. You will then get an announcement letting you know your settings have been updated.
Grading Shortcuts
Canvas now allows you to add a missing grade status for a student by typing "MI" into the grade while in SpeedGrader or into the Gradebook. Our newest Canvas update video contains information about this new grading hack and others, including marking students as excused and how to quickly navigate and input grades for students in Canvas SpeedGrader.
You may have noticed a change in your course navigation recently. Newly created courses will now contain a condensed course navigation where items commonly not used are automatically hidden from student view. If you'd like to enable items that are now hidden, you still can. Check out this Canvas Community Guide or watch our tech tip video on personalizing navigation below to learn how!
During the month of February, Digital Learning is offering a variety of workshops including. See brief overviews and links to register below.
