With the creation of AI and ChatGPT, it opened up opportunities for us to work smarter, not harder. ChatGPT, when used the correct way, can be a beneficial tool to help you accomplish more in less time. Join us for a workshop filled with ideas and examples of how you can use ChatGPT in the workplace!
Hyflex is a newer learning format that combines hybrid with flexibility, providing an opportunity to reach more students and accommodate the 21st century student. Join Digital Learning and faculty members Sharon Storch and Roma Subramanian for a workshop that focuses on what hyflex is, effective ways to implement it, and what faculty at UNO are learning and implementing when it comes to hyflex.
Join our faculty-led discussion group! Our November session will focus on how we can support students in the world of AI, including teaching them how they can use AI effectively and the potential mishaps that can occur when it comes to using AI. Feel free to bring your own examples of how you're supporting students and the ways you're teaching students to enhance their learning experience with AI!
Digital Learning is bringing back our monthly Coffee and Conversations; an informal, in-person meet-up to discuss topics related to how you can improve teaching in face-to-face and online courses with the use of technology!
During our first Coffee & Conversation session we’re going to play “Be Prepared Bingo” as we talk about ways to get your course ready for the Spring semester. We’ll talk about ways to use Canvas to support your on-campus courses, online courses, and those times when the weather might necessitate a spur of the moment remote learning day.
In this Humanizing course, you'll learn how to improve accessibility in your Canvas course and how to use the tools available to help you get there. This course will provide you with the opportunity to improve current courses and jump start the new semester! Interested but not sure if it's for you? This non-credit course is offered online using the Canvas LMS, over a 6-week period. It is asynchronous, but not self-paced. You should plan to spend about 3-5 hours per week. Participants receive a $300 stipend for successfully completing all discussions and assignments.
The Digital Learning team offers individual department training. We offer workshops and training on a variety of topics including Fair Use, Accessibility, Copyright, Gamification, features within Canvas, YuJa and more! Digital Learning/ILCI is now offering a new opportunity for academic programs to comprehensively review and refresh their online/flexible courses and programs. A program tune-up may be especially useful for programs with longstanding online degree offerings, programs considering curriculum changes, programs updating their strategic plans, or programs preparing for an upcoming Academic Program Review. If you’re interested in learning more about tune-up grant possibilities in your program, please see the Program Tune-Up webpage or reach out to Dan Hawkins, Director of Online Development, at dhawkins@unomaha.edu.
