We understand the importance and responsibility of covering stories of marginalized groups. As Omaha's news leader. Celebrate Black History Month through these learning resources and nonprofits in Omaha
Feb. 1 is the first day of Black History Month. Throughout this month and onward, you can dive into Black history and learn more about cultural and socio-political experiences right here in Omaha.Here are a few ways to learn and give back to the community:Share Omaha has a list of nonprofit organization that celebrate and support Black history. A sampling of the Share Omaha events:Feb. 4: Urban League of Nebraska – Tour of Malcom X Museum, roundtable discussion over lunch at Best BurgerFeb. 10: Survivors Rising - holding a conversation about what it means to view sexual trauma, domestic violence, and other forms of sexual violence through the lens of social justice.
