"Nebraska is a wonderful state," Thibodeau said.

Thibodeau made her first formal appearance as a Republican candidate for Nebraska governor.

It had been four months since she announced she would not run for lieutenant governor alongside candidate Charles Herbster.

In July, Thibodeau said she was stepping aside because she did not feel she was able to devote the needed time to the campaign, now she's saying something quite different.

"I left because he is chaotic and disorganized and I didn't feel was getting a good grasp on the issues facing Nebraska," Thibodeau said.

Thibodeau tells me she had conversations prior to leaving the Herbster campaign, but she will not go into details about what was discussed.

"I'm not going to sit here and publicly embarrass anyone and give the nitty-gritty details," Thibodeau said. "I think Nebraskans want to know who I am and not try to get ahead by embarrassing somebody else."

In July, Herbster released a statement praising Thibodeau saying:

"She was a great steward of conservative values and he looked to working with her in the future."

Herbster could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

When KETV presented his campaign with Thibodeau's statements, a one-sentence replay was received:

"The campaign will be offering no comment."

Thibodeau's comments may further complicate the Republican race as former President Donald Trump has endorsed Herbster and Gov. Pete Ricketts, who is term-limited objected, saying he strongly disagrees with Trump that Herbster is qualified to be Nebraska's next governor.

"He did endorse Charles Herbster and that's OK. They know each other, they are good friends so I understand where that endorsement comes from again I'm bringing it back though to the people of Nebraska," Thibodeau said.

Thibodeau says, for now, she's going to ensure that the right things happen for Nebraska.
