Teaching Tips

Now that we’re several weeks into the semester, it is a great time to employ the Stop-Start-Continue technique. Ask your students:

  • What should I (the instructor) stop/start/continue doing that might help you succeed in this course?
  • What should you (the student) stop/start/continue doing that might help you succeed in this course?

The strategy solicits student feedback that helps instructors make teaching decisions for the remainder of the semester. It also prompts students to reflect on their responsibilities as learners. Learn more about this and other teaching strategies in Snafu Edu: Teaching and Learning When Things Go Wrong in the College Classroom, by Jessamyn Neuhaus.

      Student Services Spotlight

UNO’s Office of Student Legal Services (SLS) provides free legal advice, consultations, and representation for currently enrolled students. Attorney and paralegal support helps students resolve legal issues so they can continue their journey to graduation.

Meet the director and learn more about SLS at the Criss Library on February 5, 1 to 2 P.M., Room 249.
