TEACHING

UCAT and Digital Learning Teaching Observations: Options for in-person or online courses. Each participant earns $300. Get more details and apply here. 

 

Grade Nudge Training: Learn to use Grade Nudge, an app that sends customized e-mails to students indicating how an upcoming assignment or exam will impact a student's overall grade, which has been shown to increase grade performance a half-letter grade beyond reminder emails. Faculty can be trained on the program and earn a stipend between $400 to $750 for less than three hours of work. Training sessions are open to all. RESEARCH/SCHOLARSHIP/CREATIVE ACTIVITY

Virtual Qualitative Data Dive: October 17, 9:00 to 3:00 – One-day data analysis work session. Researchers (faculty, staff, and graduate students) will be expected to have datasets ready to analyze alongside other researchers at UNO. Get more information and register using this link.

 

ORCA Internal Grant Workshop: October 17, 1:00 to 2:30 – Register using this link. 

 

Fall Writing Retreat: October 20 and 21, 9:00 to 3:00 – An immersive writing experience for faculty. Join colleagues for two days of focused writing on your chosen project(s) during fall break. Peer support will be available. Breakfast and a snack will be provided on both days. Get more information and register using this link.

NU Faculty Collaboration Annual Meeting:  November 14, 9:30 to 2:30 (lunch provided), Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center in Lincoln, NE – Attend this meeting to be eligible to apply for Collaboration Initiative Grants (ranging from $10,000 to $100,000). You play a critical role in connecting students to UNO’s academic support centers. Students are more likely to seek these free services if a faculty member recommends or refers them to a support center. Use these links to learn more about our academic support centers.  

  • Math-Science Learning Center - no appointment needed, in-person and Zoom options; DSC 107 
  • Speech Center - a resource where students and faculty can receive guidance, suggestions, and professional evaluations for oral communication; Dodge and Scott Campus locations 
  • Writing Center - students and faculty can work with a writing consultant on any writing project; Dodge and Scott Campus locations 
  • Language Lab - academic and linguistic support service for students, ASH 154 (shares scheduling with the Writing Center but provides unique services) 
  • Computer Science Learning Center - no appointment needed for tutoring; PKI 391
