I also want to invite you to the CFE and Digital Learning Open House on October 20, from 1-4 pm in Criss Library 320. Enjoy refreshments, learn more about faculty support, win a door prize, or just stop by to say hello. We will also be collecting donations for the Maverick Food Bank.

As more UNO students report mental health diagnosis, learn strategies to support caring communication with students who have experienced acute or chronic trauma.
A growing number of college students are considered neurodivergent, meaning their mental processes diverge significantly from dominant societal norms and standards. UNO colleagues will share information and their experiences in helping UNO’s neurodiverse students succeed.
Join faculty and graduate students in an asynchronous writing challenge. Each day (M-F) record a writing goal, devote an hour (of your choosing) to work toward that goal, and log a brief progress update. It’s a fun, low-pressure opportunity to get some writing done. You’ll receive writing motivators and if interested, can schedule time with a writing consultant.
This is an interactive session hosted by ORCA. Learn how to write competitive external grant applications. You will have time to ask questions and work on an application. Participants are encouraged, though not required, to identify an external grant for which they would like to apply prior to the session.
Learn how to use Zotero, a free, powerful, and time-saving tool to collect, organize, annotate, cite, and share your sources.

Maintaining wellness is a challenge for all of us. Fortunately, UNO supports student wellness in many ways. Please spread the word to your students about these services:
Campus Recreation and Wellness – Membership costs for students taking in-person classes are covered by the University Program and Facilities (UPF) fees that they have already paid. Students taking only online classes can purchase a monthly or semester pass for a very reasonable amount.
UNO Health Center – In-person and telehealth appointments are available. Numerous services are offered, some at no cost for students who pay the UPF fees.
UNO Recovery Community – a safe space for students in or seeking recovery from addiction and recovery allies to gather, socialize, support one another, and achieve academic success.
CAPS – Counseling and Psychological Services (free to all students).
If you are concerned about a student, please report your concerns to UNO’s Care Team.
There are currently 60,000 UNO alumni living in the metropolitan area and over twice that many worldwide. Homecoming, a time to celebrate our alum, is just around the corner (November 3 – 4).
Help us increase those numbers by spreading the word that UNO has waived the undergraduate admission fee. Eliminating this barrier is one of many steps UNO is taking to provide affordable and accessible education.
