Make an advising appointment now! Appointments fill fast and enrollment for summer and fall begins soon.
Familiarize themselves or seek guidance with changes in the FAFSA that begin in 2024-25.
Set their Canvas notifications to make sure they get course information and campus-wide announcements regarding enrollment and other topics.
Giving feedback is critical to student success and a way to further engage them with content or improve their skills. Timely grading is one way to provide feedback, and it helps students gauge their overall course performance.

Canvas Gradebook is a great way to get students timely grade information on individual assignments and helps them monitor their overall course grade. You may also want to sign up for a Digital Learning Gradescope workshop. You will learn to use Gradescope for the delivery and grading of paper-based assessments. You’ll be walked through creating the assessment, scanning it into Gradescope, grading the assignment with AI grouping and rubrics, publishing the results for students to view, and posting the grades back to Canvas.
Students who participate in campus activities outside of the classroom build a circle of support including peers as well as faculty and staff advisors. They also gain valuable skills to take into the workforce. Encourage students to get involved by sharing the following ideas with them:
