Enrollment Days for Spring 2026 Classes

Spring 2026 enrollment is just around the corner! Enrollment is more than just picking classes — it’s about exploring opportunities, setting goals, and building momentum toward graduation.

Now is a great time to:

  • Encourage students to take a class you will teach in spring.
  • Have a conversation during class or post a course announcement that starts, “If you like this course, you might like others offered by my department next semester.”
  • Remind students that enrolling early gives them the most options for the courses they want and need to take.
  • Direct students to the UNO Enrollment Days website.
  • Share the following early enrollment dates with students.
    • October 20th – graduate students
    • October 22nd – seniors
    • October 24th – juniors
    • October 28th – sophomores
    • October 30th – freshmen

Active engagement tips header

The midpoint of the semester often means dedicating a significant amount of time to grading. Use these tips on how to engage students in the grading and feedback process.

  • Pair timely, concise commentary with actionable steps. Grading comments are more likely to be read when they link directly to future assignments.
  • Incorporate dialogue, such as one-on-one meetings or ask-and-respond prompts.
  • Teach students how to interpret grades and act on your comments. This empowers them to use feedback as a tool rather than ignore it. Spending 5 or 10 minutes of class time to do so can save you and your students time and avoid frustration on future tasks.

    Vital Support header

Rest, relaxation, and recreation are important. Encourage students to use Campus Recreation and Wellness resources. Carve out some time for yourself to learn more about these opportunities for faculty and staff as well. You can join an intramural or sports club, try the Climbing Wall, rent camping or paddling equipment through the Outdoor Adventure Center, take a group fitness class, or meet with a personal trainer.
