“Do not let summer just happen to you. Summer is not simply closing out the previous academic year” (pg. 291). Take time now to:
Identify information you may need from faculty over the summer (data, reports, letters for grant applications, updated bios, etc.). Have conversations now and gather what you need before faculty leave.
Block time on your calendar to pursue your own research or creative work.
Plan how to cultivate your leadership skills (attend a conference, read a relevant book, or listen to a leadership podcast).
Schedule a recharge. Do something you enjoy and escape from your office and work emails.

Camp Completion: May 19 – 23, 9:00 to 3:00, Faculty Study Lounge (3rd floor CL)
Register on the CFE websitefor an immersive writing experience. Join colleagues for a week of focused writing on your chosen project(s). Peer support and writing consultants will be available. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on the in-person days (M, W, F). Virtual days (T, Th) participants will check in via Zoom and then work asynchronously, but the Faculty Study Lounge (and beverages) will be available.
Design or redesign your course to align with UNO’s revised Gen Ed requirements by participating in this incentivized workshop. At completion, your course will be ready to submit for approval. Interested faculty can submit thisshort interest formor contactMatt Tracywith questions.
The asynchronous course will run from May 26 – July 20, with an in-person kickoff meeting scheduled for May 20 (9:00 to 10:30) and a Zoom wrap-up session scheduled for July 9 (9:00 to 10:30).
Can’t make summer work? Use the same short interest form to apply for a fall session, which will run from September 9 – November 9.
