NSF Funding Opportunities and 1:1 Meetings – November 25, 9:00 to 4:00

The day will include presentations from NSF program officer, Dr. Eleanor Sayre, and opportunities for 1:1 interactions. Come to one or all sessions. Advance registration via the UNO calendar is strongly encouraged.

UNO Commencement – Friday, December 20

RSVP by December 6, 9:00 (CAS, CEHHS) and 2:00 (CBA, CPACS. IS&T, CFAM) Avoid the traffic - arrive early and check in at the faculty robing area. Chat with colleagues, take photos with students, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Writing (J)am Session – January 13-17, 9:00 to 3:00; Register via the CFE calendar.

A week-long immersive writing experience for faculty to focus on a project of your choice. Breakfast and provided MWF; beverages and snacks provided T and TH. Limited capacity.

UNO’s Maverick Food Pantry, located in the Weitz Community Engagement Center, is open Monday through Friday (see daily schedule on their website) and offers a selection of food, toiletries, and personal items. The pantry is open to students, faculty, and staff and offers in-person shopping and online request forms via this link. The pantry has over a decade of experience addressing food insecurity including assistance for the federally funded SNAP program and special programming to support the campus community during holiday and university closures.

Did you know that UNO has several spaces where you can enjoy and engage with the visual arts? Bring your students; enjoy on your own; invite your friends to these UNO treasures.

The UNO Art Gallery, located on the first floor of the Weber Fine Arts Building, features curated exhibitions by locally to internationally acclaimed artists and showcases various student exhibitions including the annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. It also hosts a variety of lectures, talks, and tours. Email Rebecca Norris, the curator and manager, or visit the Art Gallery website for more information.

The Osbourne Family Gallery, located on the second floor of the Criss Library, features exhibits of students, faculty, and artists from UNO, UNL, the NU system, and the surrounding areas. The Samuel Bak Museum: The Learning Center features works of from artist Samuel Bak. It is a source of collaboration and opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and the community around subjects of art, Holocaust education, human rights, and genocide. Faculty are able to work with Museum staff to customize an engagement opportunity that blends with course curriculum. The current exhibit, After the Storm: Identity & Repair runs through December 22. The Spring exhibition, War Games, opens on January 22, 2025.
