Teaching Tips

How can you re-energize and refocus learning at this point in the semester? With just a month left of classes, have students reflect on the course content already covered. For example, analyze a current news story using course concepts or let students design quick “teach-back” mini-lessons to review key ideas.

Then show students how their new knowledge or skill set connects to upcoming content and sets them up for a strong finish to the semester. Energy grows when students see purpose, progress, and participation in every session.

      Student Services Spotlight

It’s not always easy to know where to refer students in need of support. The Student Support Referral flowchart can help you quickly identify if you should refer a student to DASH, Accessibility Services, or the UNO Care Team.

UNO is also introducing Ask Durango, a new SMS based chatbot launching the week of November 3. It provides students 24/7 support with answers to questions about campus resources, academics, and events. Durango will also check in throughout the semester to share reminders and helpful updates.

        UNO- Did You Know

UNO must meet the updated Americans with Disabilities Act standards that address web accessibility by April 24, 2026. The new standards address course content such as PDFs, presentation slides, and videos you may be using in your online or in-person courses.

Take part in UNO’s Digital Accessibility Challenge: Every Student, Every Course, and make certain your courses are more usable for all students, meet federal guidelines, and support UNO’s commitment to inclusive education.
