Student Services Spotlight

If you’re concerned about a student’s wellbeing, you have options to help support them.

Make a confidential referral to the UNO Care Team using the online referral form. The Care Team supports students experiencing distress or engaging in harmful or disruptive behaviors by connecting them to academic, psychological, or other campus and community resources.

Refer students to CAPS (Counseling And Psychological Services). CAPS offers students free, confidential counseling and other services in person (H&K 101 and in MH by request), via phone, and using telehealth. Enrolled students may call 402.554.2409 Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 am, to schedule an appointment.

For individuals not enrolled at UNO, counseling is available through the Community Counseling Clinic. The clinic is staffed by graduate students in the Clinical Mental Health program who are working under the supervision of licensed department faculty.

UNO- Did You Know
Graphic with a red banner reading "Enrollment Days for Spring '25 Classes," and below it, "Starts October 7, 2024" on a white strip. Black and gray mountains are in the background.

Faculty play an important role in prompting students to enroll for the upcoming semester, and students who enroll early are more likely to be retained.

Support UNO’s enrollment and retention efforts by telling students to watch for Canvas, email, text, social media, and phone messages related to Enrollment Days. Look for Enrollment Days posters, sidewalk art, door hangers, and table tents encouraging students to take these steps.

  1. Prepare to Enroll - Check spring schedule; confirm enrollment dates; review DegreeWorks.
  2. Meet with Advisor - Make a game plan; get guidance on degree path, class selections, or account holds; schedule appointment in MavCONNECT.
  3. Clear Registration Holds - View holds on MavLINK; clear holds before registration.
  4. Enroll for Next Semester - Find available classes; add to cart; checkout in MavLINK.
