Hubble Constant Wars

April 5th, 12 - 1 PM, DSC 143

The Hubble constant tells us how fast the Universe is expanding. There was disagreement about its value for years. Dr. Woolf will discuss the origin of this disagreement, the resolution, and how science should work vs. how it really works. We'll also have free pizza!

    Expansion of the Universe

    Approximately 80 students and community members joined us last week to learn about the expanding universe. Dr. Iulia Podariu organized the successful event with Dr. Bharat Ratra from Kansas State University.

    Applications Due March 15th

    Physics Professor Wins Teaching Award

    Biophysicist Dr. Ryan Riskowski will receive the College of Arts and Science's 2023-2024 Alumni Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Riskowski will be honored at a reception in April for his impressive record of excellence in teaching our physics majors and non-majors in introductory physics courses.
