Dirac & Beauty in Math

Dr. Graham Farmelo will discuss the origins of Dirac's aesthetic sensibility with respect to mathematics and take a look at Dirac's extraordinary personality. We'll also eat pizza! 

Origins of Science

This lecture explores how Rene Descartes sought to establish a new kind of science - one that could understand and transform the world.

Physics Scholarship

The John & Lois McMillan Physics Scholarships provide $2,000/year for up to 2 years for UNO physics majors that graduated from the Omaha Public Schools (OPS) district.  

Promotion to Lecturer

With the support of the department and dean, Senior Vice Chancellor Phil He promoted Len Hillhouse to the rank of Lecturer. Mr. Hillhouse's promotion will be effective in August.

UNO Students Publish

Senior physics major Dylan Fredrick and recent physics alumnus Liam Yourston published an article from their work with Dr. Krasnoslobodtsev in the journal Luminescence.

Excellence in Research

Dr. Krasnoslobodtsev was awarded the College of Arts and Science Excellence in Research Award for 2023. Dr. Krasnoslobodtsev will be honored at a reception on April 25.
