Are trains causing issues with LIGO gravitational wave detectors? Senior physics major Jaidyn Spoon just published a paper on arXiv about this question. The work was completed as part of her Research Experience for Undergraduates at LSU last summer.
Physics professor Dr. Wai-Ning Mei was appointed to an Isaacson Professorship by Senior Vice Chancellor Phil He. The Isaacson Professorship is awarded on the basis of outstanding performance in research/creative activity. Congratulations Dr. Mei!
