Since launching in November 2022, ChatGPT has already made waves in academic institutions across the country. ChatGPT initially raised concerns on what its' abilities mean for writing, learning, and academic integrity in higher education, but since then, explorations have shown exciting and effective ways that ChatGPT can enhance education in our classroom.
A committee of faculty, staff, and experts across campus have begun discussing appropriate reactions to the opportunities and challenges brought forward with this new tool and are hosting a panel discussion for Wednesday, March 8th from 2:00-3:00pm, to broaden the conversation around ChatGPT. Since the release of ChatGPT in late 2022, those in academic circles have been discussing the opportunities and challenges presented by this artificial intelligence tool. The UNO Office of Digital Learning, Center for Faculty Excellence, and the Writing Center will host a panel of UNO colleagues who will share information about ChatGPT and discuss their experiences engaging with it.
