Oct. 16-17, Iowa

The SPS organized a visit to Ames National Lab, Iowa State University, and University of Iowa. 13 students will tour laboratories, and learn about programs and employment opportunities. Join the SPS to be a part of the next trip.

Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics

Applications are open through October 23 

The APS CUWiP provides UG women the opportunity to experience a professional conference, info about grad school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics. If you are interested in attending, talk with Dr. Moore. The department has funds for travel costs.

Spotlight

Sabirianov
Krasnoslobodtsev

Physics Faculty Awarded $2.8M Grant

Drs. Sabirianov and Krasnoslobodtsev were recently awarded a $2.8M grant in collaboration with colleagues from multiple other institutions. The team will search for novel materials exhibiting unique magnetic properties with applications in sensing, electronics, and energy. The UNO-specific portion of the grant is $631,308, raising the department's current fiscal year funding total to $2.6M.
