NE STEM 4U mentors begin year with training, community-building

Mentors in NE STEM 4U gathered at UNO's Roskens Hall recently to make connections and learn more about their roles as STEM mentors for elementary and middle school students. Part of a partnership with Collective for Youth, the orientation included UNO’s Youth Safety Training and other modules to empower mentors in their interactions with students.

The NE STEM 4U mentors include a mix of S-STEM scholars as well as other UNO students, including those from Noyce Math and STEM Stars. All of these students support NE STEM 4U’s goals of offering high-quality, engaging activities in local schools to spark students' curiosity and interest in STEM.
