June 2026

Summer Camps June 2026

A Summer of Discovery in Full Swing! ☀️

June has flown by, and we are wrapping up the first four weeks of our AIM FOR THE STARS Summer Camps!

The energy, enthusiasm, and creativity our campers have brought to every activity have made this an unforgettable start to the summer. From designing incredible treehouses worthy of any architect’s imagination to tackling the challenges of building and programming robots in our VEX camps, campers have embraced every opportunity to learn and create.🤖🏗️

We have loved seeing young scientists discover the chemistry behind everyday life and explore how STEM and the arts often go hand in hand. Watching curiosity turn into confidence has been one of the highlights of the season. 🔬🎨

Summer is moving quickly, and we're already inspired by this year's success as we begin planning exciting new opportunities for next summer's campers. With plenty of exciting adventures still ahead, we are looking forward to seeing what our campers will create, discover, and achieve the rest of the summer! 😎

2026 Girls Inc Graduation Commencement Ceremony

 EUREKA! Igniting Curiosity and Confidence

UNO was proud to once again partner with Girls, Inc. of Omaha to host the 2026 Girls, Inc./UNO EUREKA! STEM Summer Camp, an annual program designed for middle school members of Girls, Inc. to explore opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Through hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences led by UNO faculty, STEM educators, and community and industry professionals, campers explored real-world STEM concepts by asking questions, designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting their findings. 🔎⚛️

EUREKA! goes beyond STEM education by supporting the whole student. Daily personal and professional development sessions focused on building self-confidence, self-advocacy, body positivity, and conflict-resolution skills. Campers also participated in physical wellness activities, including team sports, yoga, and swimming, promoting healthy lifestyles and teamwork. 🏊🙏

By combining STEM exploration with personal growth and wellness, EUREKA! continues to empower Girls, Inc. members to discover their potential, build confidence, and envision themselves as future leaders in STEM fields.

🎉 Welcome to Our Newest Noyce STEM Professionals! 🎉

This June, the STEM TRAIL Center was excited to welcome six new Noyce STEM Professionals to the UNO Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program!

Each scholar has already earned a degree in a STEM field and is currently pursuing secondary teaching certifications through the UNO Teacher Academy Project (TAP), an accelerated teacher preparation program they began in Summer 2026.

Even more exciting, all six have secured full-time teaching positions for the 2026–2027 school year. As these scholars begin leading classrooms, they will continue their studies at UNO, gaining the knowledge, mentorship, and support needed to become exceptional STEM educators.

The UNO Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program is committed to recruiting and preparing talented STEM professionals to teach in high-need schools. Through scholarships, mentoring, and specialized training in inquiry-based teaching and learning, the program helps build a strong pipeline of highly qualified STEM teachers.

After completing their certification, these scholars will serve in high-need school districts for at least two years, making a lasting impact on students and helping to meet the growing demand for outstanding STEM educators.

Please join us in congratulating our newest Noyce STEM Professionals! We are proud to support them as they begin this exciting journey to inspire the next generation of STEM learners. 🌟
