Mavericks,
We hope today has been a great experience for you as the new semester is officially underway.
There is nothing like the feeling of a college campus at this time of year. There is so much energy and excitement from each one of you – looking ahead to a semester of opportunities.
To ensure that those opportunities can be realized, it is our number one priority to keep our campus healthy and safe.
One of the best ways to achieve this important goal is to get vaccinated. Today’s federal approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine highlights the success these vaccines have had in slowing the spread of the virus as well as reducing severe symptoms and hospitalizations for those who get sick.
We have vaccine mobile clinics that will be on campus tomorrow and Wednesday to get the process started for you.
Additionally, wearing masks provide an extra layer of protection in preventing the spread to or from a person by covering their nose and mouth, where viral particles are most likely to exist.
This is why we strongly recommend masks indoors, the COVID-19 situation remains fluid and our guidance could change. If it does, we will make sure to communicate the information transparently and quickly.
We hope you have an amazing rest of the week and, if at any time, you have questions about UNO’s current COVID-19 guidelines, please visit the
Maverick COVID Response website.
Thank you! And have an amazing rest of the week and semester!
Sincerely,
