The University of Nebraska Police and Public Safety Department (UNPPSD) has determined that an incident has recently occurred that students, faculty, staff and guests of the UNO campus community should be aware of. Please read this notification, take necessary precautions, be alert and call the Public Safety Department with any questions or concerns.
Offense: Motor Vehicle Break-ins and Attempted Auto Thefts
Location: UNO Scott Housing Parking and UNO Scott Campus
Incident Summary: There was an incident involving motor vehicle break-ins and attempted auto thefts in the Scott Housing parking lots on the UNO Scott campus. Camera review reveals the suspects walking the lot attempting to open unlocked vehicles. If the vehicle is locked, they appear to move on.
This is an active investigation and increased patrols are ongoing.

Description of Suspect(s):
Darker skinned black male, thin build, 5’6”, 16-17 yrs, black hair. Last seen wearing dark hoodie, black pants.
Male, unknown race, thin build, 5’6”, 16-17 yrs, Last seen wearing grey hoody, blue jeans, black and white tennis shoes.
Male, unknown race, thin build, 5’10”, 16-17 yrs, Last seen wearing black top, blue jeans, black shoes.
Female, White/Hispanic, thin build, 5’6”, 16-17 yrs, Last seen wearing gray sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black and white tennis shoes.
Safety Tips:
Lock and secure your vehicle.
When parking, make sure that you do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
If property must remain in a vehicle, secure it unseen.
Remove garage door openers.
Conceal/remove documents listing personal information (car registration, insurance card, mail).
If possible, park your vehicle in well-lit and well-travelled areas.
