NE Municipal Clerks Institute & Academy, March 2022
The Political Culture of Nebraska, Mental Health Responsiveness, Multi-generational workers, Tax Codes, and Community Connection and Leadership were just some of the topics featured at the The 2022 Nebraska Municipal Clerks Institute and Academy.
Held in Grand Island this past week, more than 220 clerks from throughout the state attended, earning 32 hours towards the required 120 hours required for certification, connecting with others and learning from both national and state-wide experts.
According to Ellen Freeman-Wakefield, MPA, Director of Professional Programs at UNO, the topics were relevant, updated and timely for this largest conference ever. “We were back in full force. Our roundtables offered peer-to peer education on a variety of situations our clerks face daily. It was a great, needed experience.”

Annual and Sustainable Gifts: Donor retention, acquisition and upgrading
Thursday, March 24 and Friday March 25
Not all of our donors can give at transformative levels. However, when we bring the many together through fundraising, we can secure vital resources for our nonprofits and build a more engaged and robust community of supporters. This course will cover annual and sustainable gifts – which are often the lifeblood of nonprofit organizations. In this session, you’ll learn about the many forms a robust annual giving program takes, how to develop an effective annual giving program, and what the future looks like for our fundraisers and loyal donors in the digital age.
